Yes yes, indeed. I'll try to translate our discussion in short.

Robbie_174 asked me why I asked/wondered who's playing the drums on "ODAD".

And I answered him that it's because it sounds like drum-machine to my finicky ears, even on the original songclips given, but that it maybe just sounds like that because Savage Circus have kept Mike 'down to earth' and playing simple drums on the album.

Now, i've only heard these two freesongs so I won't judge it all! But I hope the drumplaying in general is more 'interesting' than it've been in these two songs :)

Hello Markus,

I can understand why you've been asking, but Piet is a person you can trust for 100%!!

I've had the situation that I met Rock'n'Rolf a long time ago in studio in Hannover for the recordings of "Victory"! he talked to me about their "new drummer" Angelo Sasso, who definately doesn NOT exist! Rolf used a drum amchine on Victory.

BUT: for example I've been in studio for the recordings of "Megatropolis" from Iron Savior and I myself have been kind of shocked, how good a drummachine or drums from the pre-production sound. But I've been live with the band (Thomas Nack) in studio recording the drums. Check out the video from it: http://www.iron-savior.com/multimedia.php!
It really is a bit scaring how similar it can sound, although it's an acoustic drumset recorded live! Of course the sound is "fixed" and made much better than acoustic only, because it would be far too difficult using 100% of acoustic sound for recordings!

For the 3rd SC album I try to promise that I will do everything to join the band in studio and make a report for you as well! Ok?!

Will tell more later, I am of to EDGUY fanclub meeting now!

:-)

Harald.

PS.: Thanks for translating!

Wow nice story harald, Hahah I've always wondered that about the "Victory" album. Not my personal favourite of RW but it's good. Haha so now I got it confirmed, Rolf used a drummachine :(!! Hey he's still rock'n'rolf to me!:D and I'm sorry for the swedish :!:

Thanks for the info, Harald. In these days it's so much you can do with computers, so just because a band says "this is the new drummer" and blabla, it doesn't always necessarily mean that HE plays the drums on his first album in that band, that's why i've been so curious asking. King Diamond - The Eye is another good example, it's not Snowy Shaw playing the drums, it's drum-machine

But it's nice to hear that it is Mike playing on the new SC-album!

About the Running Wild-album: i'm pretty sure that there's more RW-albums than "Victory" that has drum-machine? Some sounds a bit weird.

Yeah, about the RW albums. My guess is that after ehm.. The rivalry it's been pretty much Drum-machines in some albums/songs. Haha like the whole brotherhood sounds kind of wierd with the drums :p
